PGD allows the diagnosis of genetic alterations in embryos before being transferred to the uterus
Sometimes, the difficulty to have children is not due to a cause of sterility proper but to the fact that one of the parents, or both, are carriers of some genetic risk for the offspring.
To avoid this risk it is possible to analyze the genetic content of the embryos before they are transferred, selecting those that do not present the anomaly that concerns us.
The genetic risk mentioned above may be due to the existence of an altered gene or an anomalous chromosomal rearrangement or, simply, because the age of the mother and/or the father advises us to analyze the genetic load of embryos.
In Reprofiv we have our own Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis Unit, which allows immediate and direct service with the best guarantees and good economic conditions.
We can study chromosomopathies (translocations, inversions …) and genopathies (cystic fibrosis, Huntington’s chorea …) as well as analyze aneuploidies in embryos and/ or sperm.
